"Prime Video is gearing up to launch Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam, a Tamil adaptation of the popular series Panchayat. The show will start streaming on September 20.
Produced by The Viral Fever, the series stars standup comedian and actor Abishek Kumar in the lead role, joined by Chethan and Devadarshini. As a remake of Panchayat, it will be interesting to see how Abishek, known for his viral comedy and as a winner of the Tamil version of Comicstaan, handles the role originally played by Jitendra Kumar. This series will be a significant test for him as it centers around his performance.
Supporting Abishek are talented actors Chethan and Devadarshini, a real-life couple who will bring their acclaimed comic skills to the show. Their performances will be closely compared to the original series' stars, Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta.
Interestingly, Panchayat has not been dubbed in Tamil or Telugu, possibly to make way for this new project. Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam is directed by Naga, known for his work on shows like Marma Desam and Ramany vs Ramany, and written by Balakumaran."
